Find Every Student’s Weak Topics Before the Exam

Why total marks hide learning gaps, and how topic-wise marks, regular homework checks and targeted practice help teachers catch every student’s weak points before exams.

A student who scores 71% in maths looks fine on a report card. But that 71% might be 88% in Algebra and 54% in Geometry. Total marks hide exactly the information a teacher needs to help. The fix is to look at learning topic by topic, all year round.

Record marks by topic, not just by subject

When teachers enter marks for each topic, patterns appear straight away. One student struggles with chemical equations, another with reading comprehension. The class average stops hiding the child who is quietly falling behind.

Check homework often, not only tests

Tests come a few times a term. Homework comes every week. Each piece of homework is a chance to spot a gap while there is still time to fix it. The problem has always been the time it takes to check forty notebooks.

This is where AI genuinely helps. Students photograph their work, the AI reads it and suggests a score with reasons, and the teacher confirms or corrects it. The teacher stays in charge, and checking takes minutes instead of evenings.

Turn every weak topic into practice

Finding a gap is only half the job. The student needs practice aimed at that exact topic: a few questions, a short revision task, an explanation in their own words. When practice is created from each checked submission, every student gets work that fits them.

Give students someone to ask

Many students get stuck at home with no one to ask. A study helper that explains the concept, instead of handing over the answer, keeps them learning between classes.

Make support visible and time-bound

  • Set one clear goal for the student, for example “Geometry from 54% to 70%”.
  • Agree on the practice and a date to review progress.
  • Record the result, and celebrate it when the goal is reached.

How EduMaxim helps

EduMaxim records marks topic by topic, checks homework from a photo with the teacher confirming every score, creates practice for each student’s weak topics, and gives students an AI study buddy that explains rather than answers. Teachers can set learning support plans with a goal and a review date, so no child is forgotten.
